Hi Blue; I don't know the yard stick that would fit me into a liberal or conservative camp. Having gone from one world to the other and passing through the Neitherlands, I see that what's good for one nation may choke anther and the other way around. Of the basics I run certain concepts to extremes both conservative and liberal. I key very negative when I see the Government itself become a Mafia, even a small part of it. While I know it's a universal tendency for justice to be for sale to the highest bidder, and that we are not unique in that respect I do like to see the general trend to be moving away from it and not toward it. My general and personal feelings are tied to my understanding that even with the best motives if Government gets involved in certain actions there is no way in time to avoid a certain degeneration and past a point there is almost no way to restore basic human rights other than burning down the barn. While I can see points where I would join forces in a revolution, I don't see any points to where I would advocate one. Revolution brings so much pain and often just sets you up for the next one, so to me going underground and being a part of some resistance would be preferable than getting involved in a revolution. Does that general attitude make me liberal or conservative ? ------------- On the one hand I'm not totally against lotteries, ON the other hand I am positive they should never be "State Sponsored" I've visited too many third world countries who are locked into generating money from lotteries , in every case bar none the State moves in the direction of becoming a Mafia, and giving out Mafia type franchise to the highest bidder. A Mafia is one thing but I'm at loss to find a suitable name for a state sponsored and or protected one. -------------- This is not so much a moral issue with me it's just something I regard as a fact of life. ------------- I wrote articles ( not well received ) about the ills, and the Pandora's box that would result, when the "privetise every thing freaks" started turning over part of the Justice system to privet enterprise. We have enough problems without that. Yet people seem blind to it. It's some sort of mass insanity in my book It will eventually lead to nation controlled by nothing but criminals, who in turn will get into power struggles that will turn your streets into nightmares. I'm convinced the process has started, but I'm not convinced it won't be checked. ----------------- Don't let anyone ever tell you or present an argument that JAILs or penitentiary's should or can be run by privet companies better than the government. No argument is valid to go down that path, it is the selling of part of your justice system. Once we start down that path Nothing absolutely Nothing will get better until we turn back. I don't guess at this I know it, and I also know that the people I once worked for are a hell of a lot smarter than most of the people trying to catch them, they don't want the penitentiary system but if the stupid privetize every thing ( closet anarchist ) insist on doing it I guarantee that the Mafia will take them over, and no power on earth can stop them, as they will know they must in effect once that starts they know they have no choice. The government may do an extremely sorry job , and at times even a crooked one, but you put the Jails in privet hands and before long it will get 100% crooked. The average person will eventually have to have a bullet proof car and build a penitentiary to live in. The Mafia will take them over and you can take that to the bank. __________ Am I conservative or liberal ? <G> Jim
