Also shown is stock price: 4/97 * stock @10 7/97 9 stock @15 10/97 7 stock @11 (Brad: '1998 will be a great year for Mattson') 1/98 6 stock @ 7 (Brad: '1998 will be a tough year for Mattson') 4/98 1 stock @ 6 7/98 ? 10/98 2 stock @ 5 1/99 0 stock @ 8 * several, but I didn't count them To me, it appears that once the stock fell to 6, the analysts lost interest in the stock. I wonder if the sell-side analysts are encouraged to quit following a stock when it drops that low. There is now only one analyst with an estimate and a recommendation, according to Zacks. If you believe the co. will survive, the lack of institutional interest is a good sign, because it means that institutional interest has room to grow.
