Gosh, I'm disappointed, we were told yesterday that it was going to
happen later this year and the movies WOULD BE FREE. I'll bet this
Hollywood guy doesn't know half of what our expert knows.

Goodboy, I just came across an article quite by accident in the Dec. 17th WSJ that I missed previously missed titled "TiVo Inc.Plans to Offer the Ultimate in TV Control". I believe you have mentioned TIVO on this thread. Their product seems to be little more than a digital VCR with a tv guide thrown in. The founders Michael Ramsey and Jim Barton worked on the TWX "ballyhooed experiment in Orlando" with the SGI segment of the project which they say "have proved to be expensive wrecks". They seem to completely dismiss the content issue. I guess they expect like TMRent that current movies will be given away for you to record and view using their digital VCR. Nick
