The G* phone weight is now down below 12 oz.

Ericsson and Telital(sp?) are the two producers of GSM/G* combo phones. They actually have contracts nearly double what QCOM has for the first round of phones.

Prices at first appear to be headed to the $800-1100 range.

Communications Daily had a story saying Motorola Cellular has cut the Iridium phone price from $3,395 to $2,795. The other Iridium distributor kept the high price but offers some free minutes, batteries, or discounted pagers. They also said Globalstar is close to announcing a contract with a major payphone company to operate Globalstar phones using debit and prepaid cards.
