X-Ray Man, can electron microscopy be used in what they call the "water-window" region?

I understand that this is important for studies of biological samples.

Found this little tidbit on XRM.

"Up to now most work on X-ray microscopy has been performed at large synchrotron rings. However, more compact sources, e.g., laser-produced plasmas, may be attractive in the future."
