one year daytrading with schwab then switched to local outfit with tradecast (Non internet)direct phone connect, then for two weeks with MBT and realtick 3. Industry wide I'm told the success rate is only about 3% or 4% make any real money daytrading. I'm a small player with only about $10 thousand, and thats just not enough to daytrade with. To day trade you must do the following;
1.Pick the bottoms, then
2.Get filled at the bottom or near to it.
3.Get out fast...when you want to.
4.Be lucky
Bottom picking is near impossible.
Getting filled at bottom is where a lot of buyers are and few sellers.
so getting filled is not easy in fact most often it just will not happen.
Getting out fast when the stock turns down puts you in a group of a lot of sellers and few buyers. You will get filled most often at a loss. etc. I'll go back to swing trading where I've had better luck.
