Well, DELL is a great company and I'm not trying to suggest anything other than that. However it's always wise to keep an eye on what the analysts are telling brokers and institutional investors (ML's price on DELL is 80 for 1999 as well) as those same institutions will hesitate to be net buyers above the targets. Given the competition from IBM/Compaq and given what most experts see as a slow down in the 2nd 1/2 of 99 from corporate America in hardware purchaces (Y2K effect) DELL is heading into some rough water ahead. Seem's like a bit of cold water lately for the tech sector with the I-Nuts 25-100% off their highs.
With DELL they are still 20% ahead for the year at Friday's close.
Some of the irrational exhuberance has been taken out of the market of late, yet there is still some priced in
