It was with the QCOM and Gilder posts in mind that I sculpted my statement. My point was that future IP on cellular would involve the "inclusion of voice and data" in addition to the adminstrative capabilities allowed through IP, as the case is now.

I didn't mean to say that the IP capability was being used yet, but that it had been thought about for a long time. Data over wireless is not a new idea, but useful implementations are just being delivered.

I don't think voice over cellular will go to IP, just data; at least not for a long while.
