John, and I didn't mean to appear overly knowledgeable on this matter, or come off the wrong way, either. I likely was only reaffirming to myself what I had just learned myself about a month ago, concerning QCOM's preparedness in this space.
--------

A lot of myths have been shattered, recently, in the personal wireless realm with the recent offerings of "under 10 cents/minute anywhere" (stateside) by Sprint, and now I understand, T, as well.

How could those previous charges ever have been justified? Different costing models, I presume. And not just a little profiteering on the parts of some, as well, I'd guess.

The new services are quite a contrast to the cellular side costs of some of the incumbents. Within my own small organization we're already saving thousands of dollars per month by switching over to one of these newer PCS offerings.

Wireless data remains an elusive goal, however, and I think that it would consume far greater b-w resources, conceivably, than would voice.

For that reason, I can see voice over wireless IP gaining favor, at least among service providers at first, more quickly than data. I could be way off here, though. Any thoughts as to why you would pick data first?

In the end, voice and data (once they are transformed into IP constructs) are almost indistinguishable from one another from a data handling perspective, but their traffic volumes would differ considerably, IMO. Comments?
