Jock,

DELL was nowhere in the server business two years back, they are the fastest growing company in that segment now. Same story for laptops (in fact DELL's initial entry in the laptop business was a fiasco AFAIR, I may be wrong). So, it is clear that while DELL is not remotely close to EMC at present, the other companies in the storage segment are not remotely close to DELL in having a strong management team.

And the market is forward looking.
