Presently looking for more defensive stocks than those in the tech sector. Think two might be worth entry and maybe even an earnings play (?) this week. Earnings are due out on 2/17 for MAS and on 2/19 for TXU. Both look fundamentally strong but trading below historical levels to some degree. Earnings are supposed to be great in both cases. Both stocks get high buy ratings. What do you think?

I think Tim, even if Rubin decides to go back to WS, Lawerence Summer has great credibility, he will be able to step in very quickly, ofcourse I do realise that Rubin departure is worth a test of 1130. That is purely an academic herd test, this may create some intital ripples in the market whenever his resignation is announced. After seing limit down opening, a dead cat bounce, and a good visit to supports, markets will love Lawerence Summers equally, after all he has hands on training for quite some time now..

Market thinks that AG has a great understanding of economy but it is Rubin who puts the trades on for account of US taxpayers, like long LTCM was brainchild of Rubin and short bonds at 135.. it was him who trapped the hedge funds in this short yen long $ trade. So all these trading activity will be history once Rubin goes out, will Summer be able to act with that decisiveness is another issue..
