Jock, thanks. Kurlak didn't get his position, nor remain there, without being right now and then, for sure. And I'm sure his supporters will remember the better calls. On this thread, TK's calls were being taken as a contrarian indicator by the fall of 97, and his Dec 16th, '97 downgrade of MU brings back very sharp memories, as we had buyers just as the downgrade report came in. And, I have used it as an example on other threads. From that downgrade, MU started a climb of over 80 % the next day. Two subsequent opportunies at the same level (around $20) were similar stupendous buying opportunities, so anyone who followed the Kurlak advice had reason for regrets.
Not having done an extensive comparison of Kurlak's calls with those of other analysts, I couldn't state that others have been much better, trying to track semis... however, I do note that they still have their jobs. :-)
Can we call it a wash here, and get back to boosting LSI, Jock? With or without analyst calls, would you agree that the next couple of years look optimistic for the semis --and especially stocks like LSI?
