I happen to know that Rick was about to buy CLPA puts when it crashed.

Yes, individual small biotechs are very risky, even the better ones like NRGN. However a combination of avoiding the obvious dogs and buying a diversified basket of good ones can be very rewarding.

GLIA is becoming one of the select few biotechs that are profitable and have a reasonable pipeline - maybe just what someone like J&J might want to fatten their own thin pipeline (see the munch-a-biotech thread for more on this discussion).
