Dear Thomas;

It reasonable to interpret the verses you site in a different way.

Mat 24:33 So, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

In light of verse 33 it seems obvious to me that he was speaking of the generation that witnessed "these things" and not the generation he was speaking to. The undeniable fact that Jesus rose from the dead forces us to give him the benefit of the doubt as you and I were not there. In view of all the evidence this view is much more probable.

As far as coming soon, Yeshua wants us to live our lives in expectancy of his return. (Mat 24:44-51) You are limiting your analysis to your own limitations of time. God created time and therefore by definition he is outside of it. I understand that your world view may not allow you to see this however it is certainly a view which many intelligent people hold.

The early church as well as the church today makes many errors. We will never know God completely. Charles Webb Carter explains this very well. "That man's finite mind, or human limitations, can never fully comprehend the infinity or limitlessness of divinity is obvious. To comprehend God fully would necessitate that man himself posses the limitless wisdom of God, in which unthinkable event he would no longer be man, but God." Please do not allow your limited mind to keep you from fully and honestly examining the claims of the Messiah. The personal cost of isolation from God is too great.

In Yeshua's love for you - DLL

><>...Good morning Thomas...><>

Or is that doubting Thomas?

I must say that your interpretation of Paul's view on marriage are nothing new, at least in the circle which you travel. No matter how bizarre those interpretations tend to be.

There are many a man and woman whose life mission it is to become a so-called expert on the Bible. And we all know Thomas that a Bible scholar does not necessarily a Christian make.! They are infamous for taking their new found Bible scholar title, hitting the rode with it, and appearing at all kinds of seminars and sermons, using this new found title of expertise, as a weapon against all that God's word really says. They fool no one except those who are ripe to be deceived.

Your interpretation of Matthew 24 also suffers greatly.
Many of the events listed by my Lord Jesus the Christ (which by the way, was far greater than your own short version) had not yet happened at the time of His saying them. Some have yet to occur.
You, not unlike others before you and I'm sure others after you, fail to understand anything concerning the things of God.
In your interpretation of Matt.24 among many of your mistakes, you failed to refer to v.32 This is also understandable, as it would blow your position wide open! And therin lies the reason I suppose, you neglected to refer to it.

Your misinterpretation of scripture comes from your lack of honesty in understanding the love, grace, and plan of God. God is not an assignment Thomas!.

No Thomas,my Lord Jesus the Christ is neither a liar, nor was he mistaken, as you have said, but in fact it is man who lies and deceives, and also makes mistakes.! Not Jesus the Christ!
Rom 3:3-4
3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
(KJV)

Scholars Thomas? Now Paul, he was a true scholar!

On your death and dying class Thomas, why do you specifically prohibit your students from using the Bible as a legitimate source for their death row passage? You state that it is too familiar. Too familiar? What exactly does that mean? It is quite apparent from the goings on in the world today (as a matter of fact one need not go farther than this forum) that it is anything but too familiar!

BTW Thomas, there is much to look forward to when these old flesh bodies do die. Have you not read? Your course seems very morbid and without any hope. But there is hope Thomas. Don't let that hopeless state consume you.It is echoed throughout all your writings.
Is is the will of God that all men to to the knowlege of Jesus Christ and be saved from hopelessness and death. It is the will of God that all men have eternal life!

Prov 2:3-6
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
(KJV)

Respectfully,
Shalom...><>

Thomas,
You sure got a lot of answers. The truth is you need to Ask the Lord to show you why He said these things and how they apply to your life. IMO hope is a basic need and His return being eminent to all generations since His death it has given hope which we still carry today.
Have a nice day,
Nancy
