I suspect Y2K will probably keep some people buying replacement computers this year which will add a bit to the underlying trend. However, maybe not as many as some would have you believe .... my January 1996 HP 7170 just passed a Y2K test nicely ... but I am pretty sure my older machine would not.

Allen, according to IDC PC sales revenue was negative for 1998.
