...HK no longer has a manufacturing base. Hong Kong already faced a crisis about 10 or so years ago and has since transformed herself into a major financial center and service-oriented economy. Hong Kong should recover at some point as (if) China's economy maintains it's growth rate. I must say things look pretty grim now though. As I recall, Hong Kong officials themselves postponed the recovery date only a few months ago.
