Allen, do you know by any chance what the warranty on Jaz 1 meg cartridges is. I seem to have a dodgy one, but it was not one of the ones they had the recall over.

Tks

John
Long on IOM
2 zip drives and 1 Jaz

PS Despite the fact we have an HP CD-R/W, the Jaz drive has become essential for backing up our data on a daily basis because we now have over 650 MB to back up.

It was fixed by Nokia. The company that he bought the cellphone and service did not want to fix it - out of warranty. Phone was used very sparingly during the 2 years he had it.

One year should not be the only determining factor. It should be the extent of use. If Jaz drive is used sparingly, say 20-30 times a year, that warranty should be good for at least 5 years, if not 10. That is, if not outdated by the 5th year.

Anyway, I am excited about this Castlewood ORB's. If they do the marketing correctly, and the drives are any good, they should give IOM a pretty stiff competition. Instead of Jaz with every PC, it will be ORB on every PC and notebooks. I think ORB will become the rage that Jaz could only dream about. We will see, 6 months from now.
