Cheaper?? it is the exact opposite by buying UIHIA you get almost twice the interest in the IPO then by buying UPCOY. About $77 worth of UPCOY with every share of UIHIA (not bad for 48 5/8) just read the Bloomberg article. In addition, you get the interest in the other companies in South America and the Pacific.

The best illustration is if someone(like MSFT who now owns 7%) wanted to buy UPCOY for example they would just go to UIHIA and offer to buy their stake at a premium, they dont need the public end, UIHIA owns the majority stake.

Matter of math.
