Speaking of tea leaves, Happy Chinese New Years to all

You all take me so seriously...

I meant "cheaper" like this: If I had $5000 to invest I would be able to buy more shares of UPCOY than of UIHIA. That's all... yes the market is inefficient that is why UIHIA is not trading where it should. I was long UIHIA as well until it saw 66 and died last Monday. (Ralph Acampora killed it) I thought it should see 100 as well. I did the math too...

But the truth is the market couldn't care less for math. When the time comes to hype UPCOY, traders will be looking at UPCOY, not UIHIA. They will not care less who owns UPCOY. Just look at MALL and UBID. MALL owns 85% of UBID but when UBID ran up to 185 MALL languished in the 60's. Secondly if the market cared for math then there would be no companies trading below cash value, yet there are many. It is all a matter of supply and demand, that is why internet stocks with low floats are ran up and down everyday. Supply and demand dictated the run up from the 20's in the beginning of the year to now, supply and demand is dictating the backwards flow now. Noone is buying UIHIA in ancipation of the IPO anymore because they can get in on the IPO itself now, "cheaper"... as I put it.

UIHIA is probably a good "investment" but it is no longer a good "trade", unless you are short. Your timeframe is much different than mine. Best wishes to you all.

What are we missing here. With 62% ownership of upcoy, why would the market give uihia such an enormous discount? Is it because it is not directly a domestic company?
thanks,
