One of the comments in the Motley Fool article mentioned Gary North, the Y2K's doom and gloom hero. In it he said that on 1/1/00 most of the worlds mainframe computers will shut down.

Now, that is an outright lie, having worked on IBM mainframes for years and doing Y2K testing on them, the above statement by Gray, like most of his statements, are on the extreme end of WACO.
