C'mon Allen! Rocky has had some very good points today. Let me comment:

CLIK!

Why would a manufacture EAT the cost of the CLIK! drive for no
apparent benefit? A Flash interface costs pennies. You can make the
arguement that: Sure, the customer will be willing to antie up a
$100 bucks for this device, but you must ask yourself: what does the Camera vendor get out of it? That is the key question. The other 99% of customers will buy a competitor's camera for $100 cheaper instead!

Again, the camera vendor gets NOTHING out of including the device. Only Iomega gets something... What a great proposal!

ZIP SALES

Iomega used to be number 1 of ALL DEVICES. Now it is eighth. So, the fad is fading.... But, the fact remains: Who cares if they are 1st or eighth.. They still can't make money!!! I wouldn't care if Iomega was number 100 on the list, if they made $1.00 per share I would buy up all the stock I could!

ZIP RELIABILITY

This is where all of you get really mixed up. Physics tells you that there will always be a failure rate associated with the shear complexity of a device. This is normal. To have a systemic problem like the 'CLIK OF DEATH' is NOT normal, and IS a real problem...
