Think about it

''We just missed a beat,'' Dell CFO Tom Meredith said of the company's disappointing revenue growth. ''We were not as aggressive in passing along our cost advantages as we should have been,'' he said.

What does this mean. They could have juiced revenue but kept the same bottom line? These guys who dumped big time in the $70s are scrambling. Excuses, unnecessary splits, etc.

A month from now, consider changing your name to

LONG-n-WRONGon DELL

You might be right Long, but how come you didn't comment on this paragraph? Did Dell really say this? Does it translate into 'price war'???

John

"Looking ahead, Dell officials vowed to move aggressively to pass
along cost savings to customers in the form of lower PC prices and at
the risk of lower margins to stoke the pace of future revenue growth
while continuing to gain market share far faster than its key rivals --
Compaq, IBM and H-P."

longondell,

No offense, but:

Only a fool would have held DELL overnite for the earnings report, especially with all of the negative indicators over the past few weeks.
