I must have been asleep or something.

Yep. 3dfx is inviting the press out to their production facilities on Monday. Either it's a product launch or a giant Chili cook-off in the parking lot.

Also, does anyone here think that 3Dfx has a fair chance of stealing some ATI market share on the OEM front due to 128's temperature?

Because of temp, no. Because of delays, yes. I doubt ATI will drop the marketing ball so our only hope is they will drop the technology ball.

On the same thread, why would IBM chose the ZX instead of say, Banshee? Is it an entirely price based issue? Makes all of the 16bit vs. 32bit arguments completely moot. If its a pricing issue then 3dfx just scored a home run with the vertical integration and the ability to price OEM and retail at two different tiers. If its a boardmaker issue than 3dfx just scored a home run with a top OEM boardmaker with major OEM support infrastructure. If it's a technology issue then...I must be retarded cuz I just don't get it.

Anyone?

Pat

FYI NVDA Q4 report is out biz.yahoo.com

Two things to note: They beat the estimates by 3 cents, and on absolute basis their numbers are worse than TDFX. If this is a rational market, either NVDA will drop to TDFX, or TDFX will rise to NVDA.
