Y'all have been very disappointing, opposing free trade. Even Democrats don't partake of that silliness anymore.

For at least the past three months, i have been hearing that SEG would not become a large customer for RDRT in the near future.

Production is expected to last about three months. If all goes as planned, Yamaha will also likely win another order from Seagate for next-generation giant magnetoresistive heads, according to the sources.
Sounds like the order is for MR, not GMR

The Japanese company had previously relied solely on Quantum Corp. of the U.S. for HDD head orders, but the pace of production did not match the timing of product delivery to Quantum. The mismatch was blamed for Yamada's projected loss for the fiscal year ending March 31 -- the company's first loss since going public in 1949.

If Yamaha is able to continuously receive orders from both Quantum and Seagate, profitability in its magnetic head business will improve, analysts say.

Maybe this development will push QNTM towards RDRT.
