As we have seen in the past, the street has taken a negative view of the merger until TDFX can prove otherwise. The only problem here is when will that proof arrive. Until that happens, TDFX could be the victim of a variety of bad news, including:

- More bad news from box makers
- Any type of NVDA merger
- Competitive graphics chips

I am very worried about the late delivery of V3 3500 (5/15/99) and the timing of the announcement of Rampage. I had thought that TDFX would be announcing Rampage, while the competitors started shipping their next generation of products (TNT2, Rage 128, etc.). Now, it appears that Rampage will not be announced until this summer. This delay allows the competitors to beat-up on V3, while they ship their next generation. In that case, I think that the street will wait until the Q3 report.

Agree/disagree?
