Any implication of ATHM / RoadRunner competition is pure noise ... the MSO's have sliced up the territory. The two systems are never in competition and are likely to merger in some sense as time goes by.

@Home needs a deal like this too. @Home has EXCITE, but EXCITE is not a news provider like CNN. I do feel the need for @Home to partner with a news provider like ABC, CBS or NBC. But who is left that is not already tied up with ATHM's competitor?
