All this talk about new products is a waste of time right now. It's looking at the details and ignoring the big picture. The big picture is what the market thinks the prospects are over the next 12 months, and right now those prospects don't look very good.

I disagree completely. Carriers need a 50 gig switch and those who have the best technology stand to win some impressive contracts. The technology sector is weak today, as are the networkers in particular. This has nothing to do with specific companies. Even COMS with a great DSL contract with BellSouth can't hold its gains.

Overall, buyers are sitting on the sides.

Contradiction. If the new products are coming they should factor into the future projection of fundamentals and valuation given based on future revenue from new sources. The thin volume A/D line and "overreaction IMO reminds me of the Nasdaq selloff before nothing changed and we had a huge quick upturn that is now going through a basing and backfill. The economy according to Rubin and Greenspan combined with the low global inflation are very bullish for tecchs. This is typically Feb. a weak season due to drop off of pension funding and bonus moneys flowing into the markets in January. This is a short term IMO pullback and will turn on a dime once something likely the MM decide its time to change thew momentum/sentiment. The "market leaders are over valued but the overall market is still lagging. Look for reversal in mid-long term bond yields to signal the reversal.
