Sorry to disrupt this thread with the Whiz Kid stuff, but Patrick brought it up....

Anyway, the real reason I'm reading this thread is that I'm looking to learn something. I've been doing neural nets for stocks for a few months. Now, I've got one that looks workable for SPX position trading. (I also have an even better net for XAU. )

1. How much $ is required to trade the e-mini? A practical minimum so the first drawdown doesn't wipe me out?

2. What should I read to learn about futures?

3. Are there online brokers with cheap commissions?

I've tried options, but of course the spread and time premium mean I do a lot of work to just break even.

TIA.

SE, please do not post bad things about me until you have seen me presently. Just a request. Come by and visit my thread. Recently it has been crazy due to the CNBC thing but when we get back to business I would like you to just follow. No reason to buy anything. Just to see that I am not a 'shark'. Thank you.
