FWIW, I talked to a german MIS, who told me he is expecting a shortfall of ordinary PC's in the second half of the year thanks to the y2k problem. I could'n't follow him in his explanation, but if he is right that might bode well for the DELLs HMTTs and WDCs of this world.

Before you jump into this water, please check komag's recent acquisition of WD thin film disk division. I think this change the landscape who the buyers are for HMTT's thin film disk.
