In November 98, Jermoluk talked to Case about partnership. AOL backs out because he wanted total control over cable. I think Case screwed up big time in November. He lost a good chance.

But eventually, Case will realize that if he doesn't partner with ATHM, his bottom line will be hurt. So I foresee ATHM will not compete with AOL eventually. They will strike up a deal of some sort that benefits both parties. AOL knows that ADSL will not lead it to the other shore,
it must need cable for the future survivability. Case will eventually give up its tactics of "total control" and give in to @Home.

If AOL/ATHM partnership is formed, ATHM will reap big benefit.
But without AOL, ATHM will win big too.
