Besides, what are you going to run on Linux? Apache web server. Linux competes in the server market, and is a mere blip in the desktop market. All of the companies that are selling boxes with Linux pre-installed are selling them as servers. Sure, it will be mentioned in the trial, but since the trial is not about NT/2000, but about the desktop OS these announcements will have no affect either way. And today's price? My guess is that this is mostly technicals trading. Yesterday's touching of $148 would have set off sell signals. If it gets out of this trough today, it could bounce quickly back to $175.
