Marshall is about 150 miles east of Dallas and about 40 miles west of Shreveport, LA. Ericy does have a large office in Dallas, but Marshall's too far away to be influenced, I believe. Also, I'm sure that the jury will be screened for any possible conflict of interest or bias. The Q's lawyers will make sure of that.

I think that the impartiality and relative ignorance of the jury will work in the Q's favor. Someone unknowledgeable about the industry would be overwhelmed by the number of patents held, licenses granted, and royalties collected by the Q. All of which are being questioned by a company that claims only a few patents, has already withdrawn several from consideration, and does not even use the technology in question, commercially (other than trials of W-CDMA).

GO*QCOM:

Regardless of the locations of Qualcomm/Ericsson, I would expect (and hope for) a fair trial.

I still am unsure whether it will be a jury trial.
