Good Luck Teflon!
At least the daily trial bs should stop soon. To put a Compaq exec on the stand---what a dumb idea. They would have been better off with Steve Jobbs of Apple--at least he is not dependent on Windows o/s. Even if he dislikes MSFT, he would have been a much better witness.

I think the judge already has his mind made up for the most part. I believe from his earlier comments that he is aware of AOL/Netscape/SunW plans. He knows how the trial is being used by them and other competitors. He is aware of Apple and Linux. He knows MSFT went overboard on a lot of tactics. What is my point? Any ruling he gives and the subsequent remedies are going to be tough to work out. Might as well make it simple--like include Netscape browser with Window for a period of time and reprimand MSFT for its conduct. Get out of those exclusive deals with ISPs. Actually the DOJ's charge is related to the browser and the ISP deals so why would the solution have to be radical?

Can you imagine the complexity of a "baby Bills" kind of solution. It would throw everything in the corporate world into a huge mess. One baby bill would have a slightly different Office 200X code from another making life difficult going from one version to the next. Even the split between applications and O/S would be tough , although it should be good for shareholders under this scenario.

Teflon, I might actually sell some of my Aprils for July calls. My reasoning is that the uncertainty is hurting the stock. Therefore, in my opinion, the sell off represents a big loss in the case.
It is already factored in and any good news will boost the stock.
