The fastest PC will be worth a lot of money to them as well - so they can make up for lost time being stuck in traffic.

Let's see. It takes 30 seconds to make contact with the remote server, 5 seconds to download the page, then the 500 MHz processor saves 0.1 seconds processing the page. The difference between 35.0 seconds and 35.1 seconds is going to convince me to pay an extra $400. No doubt about it.
