[telia/bt]

hi MB,

don't know what is up with Telia... tho believe they have been working with other venders (nokia) all along... seems like nokia is now officially "approved " and now has at least some of the business...

no mention was made of nokia as the only supplier, so until we hear otherwise, am inclined to think that orctf is still (somewhat) in the game... tho don't believe the orctf/telia contract is long term, as in the last cc tamir mentioned they are making money now (no forward pricing with telia)... and forward pricing seems to be the trade-off for the longer term commitment...

in the long run expect all the telco's to have at least two suppliers.. (bad news when you're the first one, good news when you're the second)

and it sounds like nokia is taking this dsl thing pretty seriously... at least serious enuf to put down $125 million in cash for diamond lane:

BT's ADSL Tests Targetted Wrong Users
RDSL
11 February 1999

BT, telecoms firm, has been testing ADSL technology with the wrong users, according to analysts. The claim comes after BT suspended ADSL trials after unsatisfactory results with consumer market tests. Analysts believe that BT should have focused on the business market, saying that ADSL is an accessing technology for providing SMEs with Net access.
