Smacs. I never use market orders but when I want to get into some of these penny plays that are flying I place limit orders somewhere above the market price at a price I am comfortable with. For example ONTV is at .82 but you know it will open much higher. I wouldn't place a market order because you could buy it at a very high price like 2 or more. I would place a limit order at 1 1/4 or so and then if I get it great and if I don't I will wait for a pullback. A lot of times I end up getting it as it gaps to 1 1/2 then comes back as people sell the gap and then once the sellers are out of it the stock heads back up. Then you are in near the low and eliminate the ris of buying into some huge gap. hat's just how I play them. Sometimes you miss one that really takes off but it takes away some of the risk too.
