Why should I pay Ebay a commission on items that I would rather give away to friends?

Also, I have found if I want to sell something that usenet is the place to do it- it requires at least 2 neurons to figure out how to read and post, whereas the average intelligence of a beanie baby buying newbie ebay user is suspect.

I think the amount of fraud that occurs on ebay is probably far greater than the .000000001% figure they repeat. People that are ripped off are embarrased that they were so stupid and thus don't tell anyone, and people doing the ripping off certainly dont advertise that fact.
