You can't be serious.

1. Where's the technology synergy? Power plants and submarine nuclear engines...low dielectric aluminum vs. copper damascene decisions? Would be strange bedfellows. Admitted technology bigot here.

2. How's the success ratio of GE acquisitions? Anything like IBM (Rolm, Lotus).

3. If AMAT has so much cash and a now powerful stock price, why not take on the Cisco model, i.e., buy small, closely related companies that have technology they don't.

4. That would eliminate forever a great cyclic stock play in AMAT. I thought this thread reveled in that more than anything.
