Emile, yes, I think the OT prophets placed emphasis on the judgment of God for Israel. But, His judgment doesn't necessarily come all at once. For instance, I believe the Lord judged them for His crucifiction in eternity, and the final part took effect with WW2.

"But Jesus turned and said to them, "Daughters of Jerusalem, don't weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children." (Luke 23:28 NLT)
"For the days are coming when they will say, 'Fortunate indeed are the women who are childless, the wombs that have not borne a child and the breasts that have never nursed.'" (Luke 23:29 NLT)
"People will beg the mountains to fall on them and the hills to bury them." (Luke 23:30 NLT)

IMO, this speaks of the impending 70AD, and future generations of children right down to WW2. God's wrath has now been satiated and He is working out His promises to the Jew when they shall be evangelists to the world through The Christ. Never has mankind ever seen zeal for God like that of the Jews when they finally get the right concept of Christ and realize they crucified Messiah. God is still working on it!

"Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine," (Exo 19:5 NIV)
"you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites."" (Exo 19:6 NIV)

Their obedience was not of themselves but is imputed to them by faith , through the obedience of Jesus The Christ, just as our righteousness was not of ourselves, but was imputed to us by our faith, through The Christ.
