BGR I think digital TV will be quite inexpensive ( < $1500) in a couple/3 years. I am surprised that you would rather use your "laptop" to watch TV. I think of TV viewing as a group/family activity and you would want a big screen, surround sound etc. anything to recreate the experience of a grand movie theater or even stage. A laptop is not suitable(imho) since you don't get the above and also because its either too hungry on the bandwidth or it becomes a more and needlessly expensive solution. jmho.
