For comparison - there appears to have been about a 2 month drilling gap at Voisey's between hole no. 4 and no. 5 (Holes #2 and #7 were massive sulphides) The following is a very general outline of early drilling, which I gathered from McNish's book "the Big Score" - {any errors I am sure are mine - so correct me if I've confused the timeline}

-Core pulled from hole #2 Oct 22/23 of '94
-Holes #3 and #4 drilled within a few days? #2 core sent to lab
-Nov 2 Diamond Fields give Verbiski & Chislett go ahead to stake area ($200,000)
-Nov 17 Diamond Fields announce assay results from first 4 holes
-Dec 3 Verbiski & Chislett meet with Diamond Fields in Vancouver - Friedland assures them they will get "all the money they need" and to "drill as much fucking core as you can"
-At least by early January hole #5 was being drilled (I assume ground geophysics, line-cutting, setting-up camp and moving drills {by helicopter} were probably initiated in December)
-Jan 16 hole #6 was drilled
-Jan 17 hole #7 started (in area favoured by that "incurable romantic" geophysicist Crebbs)
-Night of Jan 17 ? 104.3m of massive pulled from hole #7

Not sure if it's fair to compare NWI and Voisey's, but after the first hit they pulled back and got their affairs (money amongst other things) in order before resuming drilling. Then again NWI doesn't have Friedland there with an open wallet (yet?)

Good luck to all
CJ

PS "The Big Score" by Jacquie McNish is a 'really' good read!
