I read an article this weekend out of December's "American Demographics" magazine which was very encouraging for the future of the toy industry and toy marketing. It was discussing the relatively untapped market of Grandparents in the industry. Interesting stats:

-the total amount spent by the 55+ age bracket on toys and games in 1997 was $1.9B and 45-54 bracket spent $2.3B during the same period.

-In 1997, the 55+ age bracket spent, on average, $341 on toys and games and the 45-54 bracket spent an average of $218 during the same period.

And this amount is increasing each year as the population ages. If ALFN can successfully market to this (relatively untapped) market, sales could grow exponentially in the next 5 to 10 years!!

It's a BRILLIANT article for anyone interested in the toy industry and toy marketing. Check it out if you have the opportunity.

I'm going back to enjoying my weekend;) I'll be back tomorrow!
