Or not. He was not a distinguished student, but he made it through college and law school, and into the bar. How is he an idiot? Because he thinks that it is better for children to grow up with a father? There is a vast amount of sociological data to support that position. Because he sometimes stumbled in public? Let me let you in on a little secret--- politicians are frequently over- booked and under-prepared, and almost any of them could be made to look like an idiot on the basis of flubs. The New Republic published a piece awhile back revealing the dirty little secret that Ted Kennedy was virtually incoherent in public when he departed from a script. Is kennedy an idiot? No, he is a heroic liberal, of course...
