I hold some CCUR but I am still in the validation phase. What I mean by this is that while CCUR looks very attractive, I am still questioning whether CCUR is and will be the #1 Co. in the VOD sector.

In my mind, it looks as though DIVA is poised to be #1 in this business. I say that because there is some Sarnoff Resaerch Center background among the principals. Another reason for this view is that DIVA uses NT as the "kernel" of their technology rather than a home-grown variant of UNIX, as CCUR does. The adoption of NT over UNIX can be both a blessing and a curse. With NT, one gives away a lot of control over the technology to Mr. Bill, while with UNIX, one has to maintain a base of unique technology. UNIX often requires one to maintain and upgrade many separate software components in order to keep the whole house of cards intact.

I have searched the web for "Digital Video Servers" and have found no serious competition, just a bunch of small system integrators working the corporate and hotel markets. DIVA is the only serious competition that I've seen so far and that was uncovered in a different line of inquiry. This was not exhaustive, has anyone else worked along those lines?

If CCUR proves to be #1, then I will be investing heavily in it.
