Mexico's Industrias Penoles, the world's largest silver producer, said Friday it plans to invest $127 million over the next 3 years in a new refining plant. Octavio Alvidrez, Penoles director of exploration, engineering and construction, said the Fransisco 1 Madero plant in the northern state of Zacatecas will produce 45 tonnes of refined silver per year, along with 18,000 tonnes of lead and 105,000 tonnes of zinc.Full capacity expected in 2002.
