On the CNN New Year's Day program, I think CNN interviewed BP for its refinery segment, which gave an "all's well, we're coping" conclusion. It would be nice to see CNN interview a different major oil company - one such as Chevron, which has already said it will have to continue remediation beyond 1/1/00. What I've noticed is a tendency by speakers to say something like, "Our mission critical systems will be ready," but without divulging what percentage of their systems are "mission critical", and how many additional systems there are to check and remediate.
