The only pad there seems to be in a Zip drive is the "cleaner" pad on which the heads rest when parked. Not to say that this is in itself a bad thing. But it does negate much of what has been claimed by Iomega Investors, particularly in regards to how the Flop! drive read/write heads, while writing or reading to disk, are going to be prevented from crashing onto the disk if the drive is moved.
