Reasonable people may disagree on many things. But it is absurd to say that a politician devoid of any perceived good trait is ever "widely admired". He may not have all of them, but that is not what you said. Even if I were wrong to support Reagan, I deem him to have been inspiring, competent, trustworthy, and much else. People only admire, as opposed to tolerating, politicians on "their side" if they are supposed to have admirable qualities...
