It is a science, not subjective. You will get the basis ie salvation in Messiah, Golden Rule ect. by reading and allowing God to speak to you. The rest is really not up for debate (although the debate will rage on). Only by applying sound hermeneutics can we begin to discover what the original author intended through the inspiration of God. Also remember that we will never completely understand God, that would require us to have all wisdom and knowledge. God will judge our heart as we attempt to discern the meaning of His word.
