Hi Sun,

In further reading of Livermore's book I came upon a section where I believe he states he would go both long and short a stock when he knew there was going to be a huge movement but that in the short term the volatility was fierce.

In my two years of trading I have yet to go short so I defer to the experts here. Is this viable in today's market? If you reduced half of your short positions and went long equally in the other half you can wait out the trend and sell the losing position when the trend is clear.

I've also heard this referred to as "boxing". Buying on the long and short side of the same issue. Sounds logical. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Stuart
